Wedding Veils
Lifting of the wedding veil to kiss the brides by grooms after the vows have been exchanged are the exact things that bring tears of joy and nostalgia to all the guests in the wedding ceremonies. Never underestimate the power of the modest wedding veil in a marriage ceremony. Not only do veils make brides look ethereal, it also gives a fairy-tale feel and look to the weddings.
The Four Types of Wedding Veils
There are many ways to wear wedding veils and these are making a fast come back at today’s weddings. There are basically four lengths of veils and there are some ground rules that will help the brides to choose the right types for their gowns. You have the elbow length, the finger tips length and the chapel length and the cathedral length wedding veils. Each one of these veils is indicated for certain pattern of dresses. Such as, the elbow length veils are best suited for short dresses and at semi-formal wedding ceremonies; the fingertip veil is classier and is usually indicated for dresses that are longer than tea-length or a full-length skirt. If you prefer the fingertip veil, you should use a long dress – this veil of the most common, as it looks great on the bride while at the same highlighting the dress. The chapel veil is exactly a three-yard length veil – this is not very common, but when used is for long sleeved dresses which are long and straight cuts. Lastly, we have the very formal and breath-taking cathedral veils that are used in formal weddings. These veils are usually worn with a cathedral length and style of dress. Though they are not easily maneuverable, these types of veils really make a wedding ceremony feel great.
The Blusher Veil
Besides the above regular veils, there is yet another type of wedding veil
that is slowly gathering momentum, i.e. the blusher veils. This type of veil is
attached to the other veils to be worn over the face. It is a splendid
transformation that this veil gives the face of the bride and this is actually
what makes the wedding ceremony feel so scared and touching. This veil can be
worn in combination with all the other types of wedding veils.
The brides choose whatever types of veils; they make a great difference to the
whole ensemble by adding a touch of purity and ethereal beauty. In the last
decade or so, veils had gone off the preference lists of the brides in some
parts of the world, but they are making a fast comeback in the last two-three
years.
If you are undecided as to what type of wedding veil would be best for you, you
may ask the help of wedding counselors and wedding planners. You may also
approach the wedding dress shops that always have a group of fashion specialists
who can help you decide in the right choice of veils for your dress design,
length and color. When you decide on color, it is customary to use a shade
slightly lighter than the gowns for the wedding veils.
